This three part tutorial:  The Pineapple Peacock shawl. Was a request by a subscriber and I am so happy I was able to create it!  Big thank you to Amy Gunderson for providing this free pattern and giving me permission to make the video tutorial.

Here I wanted to share some links, more info and also more photos of my shawl.

Thank you so all who have watched and left me kind comments! I loved making this shawl.

A common comment is “can we make this shawl larger” the quick answer is no. And the longer answer would be that if you know the pineapple stitch it is possible, But it would require more to the pattern. This is not my pattern so I will not be adding to it.

So to start my shawl I printed off the pattern and picked out some yarn. I did not have what the pattern called for so I chose a couple Caron cakes from my yarns. The color Faerie seemed the perfect fit for something like a peacock.

I ended up using about 1.5 cakes. 300g or so……

I also used my steal J10/6.00MM hook. Looking back I would have used an even larger hook. The shawl came out smaller than many people would have liked.

Try an L 8MM crochet hook or a 5 bulky yarn to make this shawl larger.

I love the soft feel of the wool blend yarn, and I could see this done in lots of colors! ↓

Bumbleberry

Blueberry Kiwi

Funfetti

Buttercream

are just a few colors I love!

I did block my shawl. I used Kids foam puzzles and they were a bit small for this project, But you can also use crochet blocking boards!

I also used this spray starch after it was all pinned out. 🙂
